Net-Energy Metering

Home Net-Energy Metering

The Net Energy Metering (NEM) allows excess generated energy from solar PV (installed at your premise) to be exported back to the utility grid on a “one-on-one” offset basis. Every 1kWh exported to the grid will be offset against 1kWh consumed from the grid. TNB (Tenaga Nasional Berhad) or SESB (Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd.) customers are eligible for NEM.

Concept

  1. The energy produced from the solar PV system will first be consumed by the owner.
  2. Then, any excess will be exported and sold to the distribution licensee (such as TNB /SESB) with the Displaced Cost prescribed by the Energy Commission.
  3. The credit shall be allowed to roll over for a maximum of 24 months and net-off at prevailing Displaced Cost.
  4. The more energy generated from the solar PV system is self-consumed, the more the NEM consumers can save their electricity bill (by reducing the electricity imported from the utility grid).

Let our specialists assist you on NEM so you can optimize your solar power technology for a rewarding investment.
